On August 19, 2022, approved by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Superconducting Strip Photon Detectors (SSPDs) of the international standard IEC 61788-22-3:2022 ED1 Superconductivity - Part 22-3: Superconducting strip photon detector - Dark count rate is officially released, which was formulated by Yu Lixing, a researcher at the Superconducting Electronics Laboratory of the Shanghai Institute of Microsystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The formulation of the standard project was officially approved and started in July 2018, and it was finally completed after four years of hard work. This is currently the world's first international standard for single-photon detectors, and it is also the first international standard led by my country in the field of superconducting electronics.

In academia, a superconducting strip photon detector is usually called a superconducting nanowire single photon detector. In the IEC standard IEC61788-22-1, the device is named Superconducting (Nano) Strip Photon Detector, SSPD or SNSPD for short.

You Lixing's team are quite influential in the research of superconducting strip photon detectors, especially in the research of detection efficiency and dark count, and has achieved many original results. IEC 61788-22-3 as the first international standard for superconducting strip photon detectors (SSPDs) has no experience to draw on. Researchers have carried out a large number of technical standard document writing, round-robin comparison tests, and communication and coordination work around this international standard. The research work has been supported by the National Superconducting Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC265), the 14th working group of the International Electrotechnical Commission Superconducting Subcommittee (IEC TC90), Nanjing University, Tianjin University, etc.

You Lixing, a 1993 alumnus of Kuang Yaming College, Ph.D., researcher, director of Superconducting Electronics Research Office, Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, deputy director of State Key Laboratory of Information Functional Materials, national "ten thousand people" innovation leader and recipients of special government allowances. In 1997/2001/2003, he was awarded undergraduate/master/doctoral degrees by Nanjing University. He has been committed to superconducting electronics research for a long time, and is the project leader of the national key research and development plan "high-performance single-photon detection technology". The performance of the superconducting single photon detection (SNSPD) device developed by the company has reached the international leading level, and it has repeatedly created world records for quantum information applications (Jizhang optical quantum computing prototype, long-distance optical fiber quantum key distribution, etc.), and created Futong Quantum to realize SNSPD technology industrialization. The cooperative research results have been selected as one of the top ten scientific and technological advances in China for many times. He has published more than 200 academic papers and authorized more than 30 invention patents. Won the IEC 1906 Award and the first prize of the Technology Invention Award of the Chinese Optical Engineering Society (the first completer). Served as an academic part-timer on the editorial board of Superconductor Science and Technology.
