On the afternoon of November 24th, a special party class was held by the Kuang Yaming Honors School to deeply learn and implement the essence of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. All student party members and active party applicants actively participated in this study event. The class was presided over by Ms. Zhu Lili, the organizer and secretary of the Party Committee, and was taught by Professor Wang Jun, the dean of the Kuang Yaming Honors School and the Party Committee secretary.
Wang Jun conducted a leadership study by combining historical facts and knowledge of the Party's history on three aspects: the preparations for the 20th National Congress of the CPC, the interpretation of the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and the key points of the 20th National Congress. He analyzed the importance of studying the 20th National Congress from the principles of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, elaborated on the historical context and significance of establishing Xi Jinping as the center of the whole Party, and establishing the guiding position of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and interpreted the formation process and profound connotation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Starting from the historical process of the formation of Xi's leadership status, he encouraged all student party members and active party applicants to play a leading role in enhancing their personal political thinking while leading their fellow students actively.
Wang Jun stressed the importance of thoroughly comprehending General Secretary Xi Jinping's central task outlined in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The task is comprehensive: to build a modern socialist country, realizing the second centenary goal and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization. He underscored that national rejuvenation was a crucial objective for developing socialist modernization. Wang Jun elucidated the profound significance of Chinese-style modernization, which included a population-wide modernization, common prosperity for all people, a balance between material and spiritual civilization, and harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature. Drawing on the practical management experience of schools, he analyzed the situation in depth and encouraged students to strive to enhance themselves in all respects in response to the requirements of Chinese-style modernization and to contribute their personal efforts towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Wang Jun emphasized that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China's report made history by placing education, science and technology, and talent development strategies together, which is a highly strategic move with practical significance and top-level design. The report recognizes that these three strategies are key pillars that support one another, and placed emphasis on their organic connection. Education, in particular, is the fundamental support for technological progress. As such, student party members should strive to balance both knowledge-based and process-based learning, strengthen self-reflection, and focus on innovation-driven development. In the face of increasing competition in international talent and technology, young students should have a broad vision, persistence in continuous development within their respective fields, and seize opportunities to realize their personal values.
After participating in the party class, the students have developed a deeper understanding of the spirit of the 20th National Congress. Kong Bingqing, a dedicated undergraduate student from the class of 2020, expressed her appreciation: "Studying the party class has granted me a more comprehensive understanding of the spirit behind the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. General Secretary Xi Jinping's aspirations and expectations for our generation, as revealed in the report, have greatly inspired and motivated me. We were born under the red flag and nurtured by the spring breeze. We have witnessed the historic transformation of our motherland. It is our duty to follow the party with a strong will, establish lofty ideals, love our great country, remain resolute in our battles and cultivate our skills to become the driving force for our nation's rejuvenation."
Zang Min, a conscientious graduate student from the class of 2021, gained valuable insight into the innovative theories of the party: "We need to study and apply the party's innovative theories earnestly, invest our true feelings in gaining practical experience, and thoroughly comprehend its worldviews and methodologies. We need to persistently adhere to the positions and viewpoints presented in these theories. This will enable us to have a deep understanding of the principles, theories, and philosophies of the party's innovative theories, understand not just what it says but also why it says it, and apply these theories into our work, study, and daily lives."
Wu Yuxin, an undergraduate student from the class of 2019, praised Dean Wang’s lucid interpretation of the 20th Congress report and the incredible changes of the last decade. Under the leadership of the party, we have achieved the historic tasks of poverty alleviation and building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, accomplishing the first centenary goal. As China progresses towards the second centenary goal, we must align our thoughts and actions with the central leadership of the party, use theories to bring our minds together, and apply practical actions to increase our individual impact.
Wang Kaifeng, an undergraduate student from the class of 2020, gained new learning experiences during this class while consolidating their existing ideological awareness. In particular, he stated that the most remarkable aspect was learning how to combine historical context with present circumstances, and comprehend the value of the 20th Congress as a historical turning point amidst the unprecedented changes of this century. As China continues to transform in this century, it is moving steadfastly towards rebirth. Let us all participate and witness it together!
The other students also expressed their commitment to furthering their understanding and study of the spirit behind the 20th National Congress report, striving to set higher standards for themselves, working tirelessly towards the goals of national prosperity and rejuvenation, and contributing their youthful energy to the historical process of building the "First Nanjing University" and achieving China's modernization in its own unique way.
