Kuang Yaming Honors School successfully held a special report sharing session on
"Strengthening Ideals and Beliefs, Cultivating Virtues and People"

In order to guide the majority of teachers to learn from the advanced examples around them, cultivate noble ethics, and strengthen the construction of teachers' ethics and style, the symposium on the special report of Kuang Yaming Honors School “Strengthening Ideals and Beliefs, Cultivating Virtues and People” was successfully held. Professor Wang Jun, Party Secretary and President of Kuang Yaming Honors School, Professor Dong Hao, Vice president, and all full-time teachers attended the meeting. Professor Xu Wang, former director of the intensive training class and famous teacher, was invited to make a special report on teacher ethics. The report was presided over by Professor Wang Jun.




Combining with his own teaching experience, Mr. Xu Wang told the story of himself and the teachers around him seriously fulfilling their duties and teaching and educating people with emotion and truth. He stressed the importance of stimulating students’ interest. “Most students who choose basic science now are interest-oriented, and interest is a very important foundation for real scientific research. Teaching is to mobilize students' real interest in learning and take learning science as his inner motivation. Students' initiative in learning is not in teachers' hands, but in students' hands.” For example, some students who really do not want to learn a certain knowledge, the teacher is unable to let the students learn to understand. On the contrary, if a student really wants to learn something, he can learn it well without any teacher's involvement, especially in the present environment. Second, teachers should become the "active" resource bank for students, provide convenience for students' learning, act as a facilitator of students' learning, give students some new materials consciously in teaching, encourage students to study more after class, realize the concept of "interaction", set open exercises, encourage students to actively discuss or communicate and cooperate with classmates. Thirdly, teachers should be the scaffolding to help students with cross-domain learning disabilities, build knowledge context and knowledge system.



The seminar atmosphere was active, and the participating teachers made speeches. Professor Fan Hongjun mentioned that every class of students are different, he always looks for the most suitable for their own expression, the most suitable for the current level of students to teach, so that different students can be inspired to teach in accordance with their aptitude; Mr. Wu Shengjun shared his own learning experience, shared the glorious tradition and noble ethics of the older generation of scholars. Prof. Zhang Xiaopeng, Hu Jinglei, Zeng Guixiang, and Hu Qixi respectively discussed the course teaching design, teaching process, teaching quality, etc.



In the end, Wang Jun summed up his speech, emphasizing that education is a cause of "benevolence and love", love is the soul of education, there is no education without love, the majority of teachers should be teachers with "ideal and faith, moral sentiment, solid knowledge, have the heart of love", Wang Jun stressed that they should learn from a group of excellent teachers like Prof. Xu Wang.
